Beli Tiket Selamat ("we", "us", "our") is an initiative led by the Malaysian Association for Arts, Live Events, Concerts and Festivals (ALIFE), in partnership with the Ministry of Communications. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit belitiketselamat.my (the "Site") or interact with our forms.
This Policy is issued in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of Malaysia ("PDPA").
2. Who controls your data
ALIFE — Persatuan Seni, Acara Langsung, Konsert dan Festival Malaysia — is the data controller responsible for personal data collected through this Site.

3. What we collect
When you subscribe for updates:
- Your email address
- Your preferences for the types of alerts you want to receive
When you submit a scam report:
- Your name (optional)
- Your email address (optional, for follow-up)
- Details of the suspicious listing — URL, seller handle, platform, event name, description
- Screenshots you choose to upload
When you visit the Site:
- Basic technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on page — collected via standard analytics
4. Why we collect it
- To send you launch updates and safety alerts you have subscribed to
- To investigate, triage, and act on scam reports you submit
- To publish anonymised scam alerts that protect other fans
- To share verified scam intelligence with platform partners (e.g. Meta, TikTok, Carousell) and law enforcement where appropriate
- To improve our content, security, and educational materials
5. Legal basis
We process your personal data based on your consent (given when you submit a form) and our legitimate interests in protecting fans from ticket fraud.
You may withdraw your consent at any time — see Section 9.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share information with:
- ALIFE staff and authorised volunteers handling reports
- Platform partners, for takedown requests (e.g. Meta, TikTok, Carousell, Telegram)
- Law enforcement agencies, where required by law or to act on serious fraud
- Service providers operating the Site (email service, web hosting, analytics)
- A successor entity if Beli Tiket Selamat is reorganised or transferred
7. How long we keep it
- Email subscription data: until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days
- Scam report data: up to 5 years, to maintain fraud-pattern intelligence; personally identifying information is removed after triage where feasible
- Analytics data: up to 24 months
8. How we protect it
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted transmission (HTTPS), restricted access to personal data, and routine review of our systems. No system is perfectly secure, and you submit data at your own risk.
9. Your rights under PDPA
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Limit or object to how we process your data
- Lodge a complaint with the Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi (Personal Data Protection Department, Ministry of Digital)

10. Cookies and analytics
We use minimal cookies for essential site functions and anonymised analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies for third parties. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — note that some Site features may not work properly without them.
11. Children
This Site is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted on this Site. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least 30 days.
