Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using belitiketselamat.my (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. About this Site

Beli Tiket Selamat is an awareness and reporting initiative led by the Malaysian Association for Arts, Live Events, Concerts and Festivals ("ALIFE") in partnership with the Ministry of Communications.

The Site provides:

  • Educational content on ticket scams and safe-buying practices
  • A form to subscribe to safety alerts and launch updates
  • A form to report suspicious ticket listings

The Site does NOT:

  • Sell, broker, or guarantee tickets to any event
  • Verify or authenticate any specific seller, listing, or platform on demand
  • Process payments
  • Provide individual legal, financial, or law-enforcement advice

3. Educational content is not professional advice

Information on the Site is provided for general awareness only. It is not legal, financial, or professional advice. You remain responsible for your own ticket-buying decisions. Following our tips does not guarantee you will not be scammed.

4. Reporting suspicious listings

When you submit a scam report, you agree that:

  • The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • You are reporting in good faith and not to harass, defame, or interfere with a competitor or a person you have a personal dispute with
  • You have the right to share any screenshots, links, or evidence you upload
  • ALIFE may use the report — with personally identifying information removed where feasible — to publish public alerts, share with platform partners, or refer to law enforcement

We do not promise to act on every report, respond to you individually, or remove any listing within a specific time frame.

5. False or malicious reports

Submitting deliberately false, defamatory, or malicious reports may expose you to civil or criminal liability under Malaysian law, including the Penal Code and the Defamation Act 1957. ALIFE reserves the right to cooperate with authorities investigating such conduct.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, scam-pattern descriptions, and design — is owned by ALIFE or used with permission.

You may:

  • Share links to the Site
  • Quote short excerpts with clear attribution to Beli Tiket Selamat / ALIFE

You may not:

  • Reproduce, modify, or republish substantial portions of Site content without prior written consent
  • Use Site content for commercial purposes
  • Use ALIFE or Beli Tiket Selamat logos or branding without permission

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, hack, or compromise the security of the Site
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without prior written permission
  • Submit malware, phishing links, or otherwise harmful content through any form
  • Impersonate any person, organisation, or official body

8. External links

The Site may link to third-party websites — for example, ticketing platforms, news articles, or partner organisations. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or security of external sites.

9. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, ALIFE disclaims all warranties, express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Site will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Any specific scam will be identified or prevented
  • Information on the Site is exhaustive or up to date at all times

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, ALIFE, its office-bearers, members, employees, volunteers, and partners (including the Ministry of Communications) will not be liable for any loss, damage, or claim arising from:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, the Site
  • Any ticket-buying decision you make, whether or not influenced by Site content
  • Any action or inaction we take on a scam report
  • Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies on the Site

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited under Malaysian law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ALIFE and its partners against any claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your submission of false or malicious reports, or your misuse of the Site.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted on this Site. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
